Dev on single screens shutting down: Releases in December

Cinema halls in Kolkata and suburbs are currently facing several issues after reopening, with no big releases and only a few people visiting due to the COVID scare. As many as five cinema hall owners decided to keep the halls shut until there are some new releases. Bringing down the shutters and waiting till the situation improves seems to be the only option even for the iconic theatres including Priya, Basushree, and Menoka.

“What can I say? I am sure theatre owners were forced to take such a decision as they are running at a loss. Let us wait for big releases in December. I am sure things will look up. But in between, I went and watched Switzerland at a theatre and I can assure you everyone is taking all precautions. But I do understand that the situation will be grim till there’s a vaccine, as people are living in fear of the virus,” shared the actor during an exclusive chat with ETimes adding that he believes people don’t have the mindset to think of luxury right now.

On the work front, Dev recently wrapped up the Kolkata schedule of his next ‘Commando’ and will resume the shoot of ‘Golondaaz’ later this month.
